Curtly Ambrose (WI)

A giant of the game in every sense, Curtly Ambrose was the most lethal pace bowler of his generation. Standing 6ft 7ins and releasing the ball from almost 10ft high, he garnered 91 test caps and 176 ODI appearances. It was often reported that a request for interview would be met by a curt "Curtly talk to no man"., but Richie Richardson assures us that Curtley was often a joker in the dressing room. When his extreme pace deserted him, he fell back on subtle seam movement and an immaculately grooved action. English batsmen saw a great deal of Ambrose’s hand-jiving wicket celebration, which set his white wristbands "flashing like doves taking to the sky". These days he is also the bass guitarist in "Big Bad Dread and the Ballhead", and probably the tallest man in Reggae!
